METHODS FOR NON-FORMAL AND INTERACTIVE LEARNING FOR ADULTS

Strengthening Adult Educators’ Skills through Innovative and Learner-Centred Methodologies

As part of the Erasmus+ Programme, three adult education professionals from the Association of European Development (AED) participated in the international training course “Methods for Non-Formal and Interactive Learning for Adults.”
The training was designed to enhance the competences of adult educators, trainers and facilitators by introducing innovative non-formal education methods that promote active participation, practical learning and meaningful learner engagement. The programme focused on transforming traditional teaching approaches into dynamic, learner-centred experiences that encourage collaboration, reflection, creativity and lifelong learning.
Through a combination of workshops, simulations, group activities, peer learning and practical exercises, participants gained hands-on experience in applying interactive methods that can be successfully transferred to adult education settings.

Results Achieved
As a result of the mobility:
✔ Three adult education professionals successfully completed the training programme.
✔ Participants improved their understanding of non-formal education principles and learner-centred methodologies.
✔ New interactive teaching methods and facilitation techniques were acquired and tested.
✔ Participants developed practical skills in designing and delivering engaging adult learning activities.
✔ Increased capacity was achieved in using simulations, role-play, case studies and project-based learning approaches.
✔ New tools for reflection, assessment and learner engagement were incorporated into future training practice.
✔ International exchange of experience and good practices strengthened professional cooperation with educators from different European countries.
✔ Participants designed and delivered their own non-formal learning sessions and received constructive peer feedback.
